Maryville Portrait Photography - Elliot Turns One!!

Okay, how about some one-year-old cuteness today? Meet Elliot and his mom and dad, Kristen and Todd. We photographed Kristen and Todd's wedding way back in 2003. Kristen and I went to MC together and they got married just a short while after we graduated. They live in Nashville now and have an adorable little boy who we just had the pleasure of meeting! Kristen wrote me and said that they were coming in for a visit and wanted some amazing photos to document Elliot turning one. We were more than happy to oblige!

We planned the session in a way that we could work around the cold weather so we started out in the new studio in front of our wall and window there, then while Wes set up the next backdrop, I took the family outside to get just a few outdoor shots. It ended up being strangely warm on Saturday (until that night that is) and it was a great day for a session!

Thought we were getting off to a rocky start, but it turned out Elliot just doesn't like to have his clothes changed! He was all smiles after this.

He's at the age where he loves to clap!

Todd went around to the front of the window outside and Elliot was super excited to see his daddy out there!

Kristen said that it is super rare that he will sit still on her lap anymore now that he is crawling so fast so this shot was pretty special to her!

My absolute favorite from the day!

Some sweet family time.

I love this expression.

We had to do the cupcake and candle thing to commemorate turning one. Elliot was more into the candle than the cake!

He was willing to share a bite with mommy though. :)

LOVE this one too!

"What cake?"

Thanks Kristen, Todd and Elliot! We had a great time with you guys! I totally think you need to turn this into a regular yearly tradition with us! :)
