Kristy+Beau: Engagement

Last week we met up with one of our May couples for a little urban engagement session. We started out at Volunteer Landing with Kristy and Beau and then moved to downtown Knoxville and UT. Fun day! And we walked away some really cool images. Here are a few of my faves...

Kristy and Beau brought their pooches along for a few.

The world's smallest bouquet.

How sweet.

Aarrrgh! The dreaded fish-hook!

I had U2s "Desire" from Rattle and Hum in my head the rest of the day.

Getting all "model-y".

We found some cool steps with some curvy iron railing to play with.

This my my favorite alley in Knoxville. Funny, that's something you don't say every day.

They call this "The Dolphin". I don't ask questions of our couples... I just shoot what they ask me to. ;)

That's it for now. Leave us a comment and let us know what you think!

Jenna+Josh: Engagement

How about a little fun at the lake? Last week we hung out with Jenna and Josh for some fun engagement photos at Louisville (Tennessee, not Kentucky) Point Park. It was sunny out, but a little too cold for them to jump in the water for me. :) We had good time though and I'm looking forward to their June wedding! Here are a few favorites from our session...

The cute couple.

I stole this bench for them. Well, borrowed I guess. I didn't actually remove it from the park.

They did agree to walk out into the water for me though. I thought it would be fun to get a serious, "American Gothic", type pose while standing in the lake. I know, I'm crazy. It's all about being different, right? And I guarantee that Jenna and Josh don't have any other photos of them all dressed up and ankle deep in the Tennessee River. :)

I had to keep this one... the old fella in the boat just kept creeping around watching us.

LOVE the red shoes!

From the lake we headed off to a nearby old warehouse to play. Hey, it's not trespassing unless somebody yells at you.

The perils of wearing a tie... you can never get away from your lady. Wait, that's not always a bad thing.

I love it when I say, "climb those pallets" and the couple just say "okay" and do it. :)

I told you... I dig those bright red shoes.

That's all for now! Check back soon. I have some great photos of our girls to share. And another cool engagement session I'm working on.

Wes

ps: Today was supposed to be the last day to vote for Knoxville's Hottest Photographer, but they apparently decided to extend the deadline until May 1st. So that means you still have time to cast your vote and choose us as Knoxville's "hottest"!!

Adorable Lily

Okay, our soon-to-be gallery/meeting space isn't ready yet. We have an electrician coming tomorrow to work on the lights for us and then I'll work on getting the audio/visual extravaganza up and running. I've got a truckload of canvases on the way and we're in the process of framing prints. Augh, the chaos!

I did take a break this week to edit and tone our last kiddie session of sweet little Lily! Lily is the daughter of the owner of our favorite pizza joint, Metro Pizza in Alcoa. Oh my, they make a yummy pizza. It's been killing me since I've been trying to eat a little healthier and shed some pounds. Now lunch is a salad and a slice of cheese instead of my usual heart attack on a plate. But I digress (trust me, I'd like to digress by there right now for a slice).

We had a fun play date with Lily at her parent's house in Knoxville. She's so stinkin' cute!!

I literally walked in the door and took this within seconds. The kid's a star!

And a ham. :)

Swinging with Mommy.

Remember how awesome that felt when you were a kid?

One of my favorites.

Getting some air with Daddy and Mommy.

I love the look of determination on her face.

Isn't she gorgeous?

She loves Caillou.

What? Don't you eat Oreos in a princess chair next to the door too?

Fun with the folks.

After she tried to lick her parents, she came after me with Oreo tongue. I got this shot off before diving out of the way.

After the session, while Danielle was chatting with her Mom and Dad, Lily and I enjoyed a chat around the coffee table. She has some interesting views on the economy.

A quick ride with Daddy.

Thanks Jay and Val for letting us have a play date with Lily! We have a little surprise for you all whenever our gallery gets up and going. Can't tell you what though... it's a secret!

Speaking of which, I promise, a post about the gallery and info on our grand opening coming soon!!

Back to the mines...
Wes
