Lilly at 18 Months

Oh sweet little Lilly, how fun it is to watch her grow! If you've followed our blog for a while, you'll probably recognize the cuteness that is Lilly. We've photographed her journey to the grand old of age of 18 months starting way back when she was just three months old, then again at six months, and when she turned one. My how she has grown! Last week we met the family at their Clinton home for another fun playful session with this charming little lady.

We started off by playing in her toy house.

Isn't she pretty?

"Accio... teddy bear!" Sorry... I've read too many Harry Potter books.

TickleFight!

The kid is a natural. I didn't even have a chance to pose her this way. She just put that little hand on the wagon, keys in the other, and struck a pose.

I don't know what's so funny. Chris always wears hats like that.

You'd make this face too if you were less than a foot from a bubble machine.

I absolutely adore these next three.

A beauty...

and a cutie!

"Get your motor runnin'..."

You look mahvelous darling!

Thanks to Lilly's mom and pop for letting us be the family documentarian! :)

Coming soon: Gee, I really don't know. I've got some new photos of our girls to share if I can ever find the time to edit them. I'm working on a bazillion wedding albums right now, and this coming weekend we have another wedding at Central Baptist Church of Bearden. So who knows what will end up next? We'll all just have to wait and be surprised!

Congratulations Bridges Family!

It's official... all of my close photo friends now have two kids. The race is on to see which one of while get to number three first. (Danielle will smack me when she reads that).

Our good friends, the Bridges, welcomed their second son into the world on July 5th. It took them a little while to come up with a name for the little guy, but they finally chose Ty. Short and sweet. Back when Amelia was born last year (*gulp!*) Steven did us a favor by photographing Maddie waiting on her big sister (see the link here). So it was my turn to do the same. Mostly. Steven's wife Erika delivered via c-section, so I couldn't photograph big brother Silas waiting, but I was there when Silas got to see little Ty for the first time. It was an honor to hang out with this new family of four.

And here are a few of my favorites from Ty's first day.

Mommy and daddy with their new baby boy.

I wonder if that's like the little dye-packs at fancy department stores. If someone tries to leave with the baby will they be showered with blue ink?

The modern mom texting family and friends from the hospital.

And Steven couldn't help but shoot a few too.

Tiny fingers.

And a big yawn.

Mommy's kiss.

Silas was a little trepidatious about meeting his little brother. They think seeing Erika in the hospital surrounded by all the equipment was a little too much for him. But he did give mommy a kiss when he got to the hospital.

Steven got him warmed up by letting him play photographer.

And take photos of his new brother.

And of daddy.

And me!

Father and son, part one.

A few minutes later, it was an all out shoot-fest. Silas photographing Erika, Erika photographing Silas, Steven photographing friend Jess holding Ty, while Silas shoots Erika and vice versa. And me photographing the whole scene. :)

Awwww, how sweet.

Erika kept playing with Ty's little hair.

Chicken balloons!

Steven on the phone again.

Sleepy little dude.

I just love the feel and flow of these next two...

A nurse came in to do a check-up and Ty was none too happy.

The Bridges' good friend Joe Howell (Joe's a former News-Sentinel staffer, hence the camera) stopped by in time for the check-up.

Ladies and gentleman, Ty Owen Bridges.

Father and son, part two.

Little Ty started sucking his thumb in his sleep while Joe held him.

Congratulations to Steven, Erika, and Silas! And congrats to baby Ty... he was born into one great family. :)

Jenna+Josh: The Wedding 06.06.09

Hello everyone! This week we want to share with you some of our favorites from Jenna and Josh's wedding in the mountains at Brother's Cove near Pigeon Forge. We knew the wedding was going to be fun because we had a blast at their engagement session back in April (check those photos out here). Jenna and Josh had a beautiful day filled with a ton of cool details that Jenna did herself. If there's a Bride DIY Hall-of-Fame, I hear-by nominate Jenna Bryant!

Enjoy the show!

Danielle was freaked out that some of the cabins at Brother's Cove were on stilts like beach houses clinging to a ridge. She's just a wee bit afraid of heights and this was the cabin the girls were getting ready in, which is, of course, where I left her while I went to photograph the dudes in their cabin. :)

But all that height leads to some cool views. This is Jenna's mom chilling out on the back porch.

It's easy to impress me... I've never seen nail polish in a pen form. Apparently neither had Danielle or Beth. Of course, I don't know why I would have seen it before. It's not like I cruise the cosmetic aisle at Walgreens. I just thought it was cool.

Um, I don't remember what's going on here, but it sure looks funny!

The beautimus bride!

How cool is a bride who plays pool? I was going to school her in some 8-ball, but I figured it would be rude of me to lose all my money to a girl on her wedding day.

I made Danielle experiment with getting some portraits (soon she'll be completely ready to take over and I can sleep in on Saturdays!) and this was one of my favorites she captured of Jenna hamming it up for the camera.

Josh waiting to see his lovely bride.

And the big reveal! We get asked a lot about our stance on couples seeing each other beforehand and here's the official Hope Photo response: It's completely up to you! Cool moments can be had either way and it really comes down to a personal preference and timing thing.

Danielle loves her some free space in her images. That's cool... she's got her own style and it works!

Josh.

I think I was doing a few of Jenna solo while Danielle found Josh waiting patiently in the heat under their pink parasol.

Speaking of the parasol, Jenna painted it herself. Told you - DIY queen!

Jenna.

Flowerific.

Jenna was surrounded by Team Buff 'n Stuff.

Mr. and Mrs. Bryant.

Jasmine, the four-legged flower girl.

The kiss!

The rose petal assault!

A few details from the day.

No, my sensor isn't THAT dirty. The one obstacle we all had to overcome were the bugs (all the little black dots in the sky). The Brother's Cove crew did all they could do, but they were little persistent buggers. Just that time of year I guess.

Now... dip!

Too funny!

A little self portrait hail mary.

KissyFace.

That's it! Thanks J&J for the fun day!

-Wes

ps: Feel free to leave comments below. :D I always post a link to new blog posts on my Facebook account and all the comments end up on there instead of here. I'm not trying to whine; I greatly appreciate any and all comments we get no matter where they are posted. But the blog needs a little love too. ;)

Coming soon: Our good pal Steven Bridges' had another boy! Well, he didn't; his lovely wife Erika did all the hard work. I'll share some photos from my visit with little Ty.
