Maryville Portrait Photography - John and His Shotgun

Greetings everyone! A few weeks ago we shared a "shotgun" wedding with you and today we're showing off some photos from a shotgun portrait session! Thirteen-year-old John is part of the Heritage School Clay Target Program and recently won a gold medal in sporting clays and a silver medal in skeets during a competition. His mom contacted us because she really wanted some pictures taken of him with his prize possession, but places like WalMart and Target were not comfortable letting him bring a prop like a real gun into their portrait factories. And who really wants bland photos in front of a goofy backdrop anyway? We needed to get this boy out in the field where he belongs! Here are a few favorite "shots" from the afternoon...

A huge thanks to Dara's Garden for letting us borrow their cool, grassy hillside. This photo wouldn't be so rad without it!

By the way, Danielle, Brittany, and I all tag-teamed this one. We all wanted to play. And the to be honest, I don't remember whose are whose... that's right, we all three kick some major butt!

This kid is intense! I wouldn't want to face him in a competition.

We decided to do a few family photos with mom and dad too.

Pull! (I'll admit, I have no idea if they say that or not. Sounds cool to me though! :) )

The right tool for the job.

John said he wants to be a sniper someday... I believe him!

Brittany can't decide which to shoot with. ;)

Thanks McClanahan family and congrats again John Morgan for your win!
