Hunter Valley Farms Wedding Photography - Julie + Cory 06.16.12

Thank goodness it's Friday! Can I get an amen? To kick of this great weekend right, I wanted to share some beautiful photos from Julie and Cory's recent wedding at the ever so lovely Hunter Valley Farm. Not only was their wedding gorgeous, but they had one heck of a fun reception too. Enjoy some of our some favorites!

A few getting ready photos to start off.

More floral art by Lisa Foster.

Of course, being East Tennessee weather, right when we were supposed to do the outdoor portraits, it began raining. Never fear, the porch will work!

The beautiful bride.

And Cory looking handsome on his wedding day.

Sometimes you just have to cry.

I love this look Julie is giving Cory.

Oh, Hunter Valley, make for some pretty weddings.

Just married!

So sweet.

One of my favorites Danielle shot.

I love Cory's soccer ball groom's cake

Cake wars!

Family sings traditional song at wedding; bride and groom either laugh uncontrollably or hide in embarrassment. I couldn't tell which. ;)

All the single ladies!

Hot!

It wouldn't be a Hunter Valley wedding without an awesome sunset by the river.

Or a few on the beach.

Or the dock. :)

We went to a reception and a rave broke out.

Congratulations Julie and Cory! It was a beautiful wedding!

PS: I've started a new hobby… snapping shooters at weddings. I'm going to start a collection of all the different cameras I see at each wedding. So far, the craziest is an iPad from Julie and Cory's wedding..

Danielle on Display

Happy Wednesday everyone! Danielle and I have talked before about how much we love shooting stuff for ourselves with our iPhones and how addicted we are to the app Instagram. Recently Danielle answered the call for submissions to for the Phone -O- Graphy Exhibit, a display of local cellphone camera art during the First Friday in the District art walk in downtown Knoxville. And she was excited to find out some of her photos were selected for the exhibition! So last Friday we traveled to Gay St. to see some of her work on display.

The photos were printed and then transferred to blocks of plywood before they were hung. I don't know how many there were total, but I'd guess at least a couple hundred. It was a fun little game of "Find Danielle's Photos!" (By the way, these were shot with my phone so I could Instagram them.)

Some of the photos she submitted. The top left image won an honorable mention.

And a few more.

It was cool seeing her iPhone photos in real life! Like a lot of images since the digital revolution, most of our iPhone snaps spend their whole lives on our phone or on the computer. And it's easy to forget the joy of seeing and holding a photo in your hand. I'm proud of you Danielle!!

If you want to see more of her Instagram photos, check out her feed. (Mine is here if you want to see it).

Maryville Portrait Photography - Ellie Kate at 4!

One of the the highlights of every year for me is getting to photograph one of our favorite clients, little Ellie Kate. Well, she's actually not that little any more. It's fun going back through all the blog posts since she was a baby… here is last year's session. Watching happy kids grow makes me happy. :)

First she wanted some photos in her Snow White dress, but then she changed her mind. At least I got this one.

Future artist?

We had to get one or two with mom and dad.

Such a little knucklehead.

Remember the joys of swinging on your tummy?

Ellie Kate was proud to show off her new playground.

Hard to port, Cap'n!

Climb high!

Anything better than playing with mom and dad?

What a sweetie!

As always, it was so much fun Ellie Kate! See you soon!
