Maryville Wedding Photography - Kelly + Alex 08.14.10

Do you like cupcakes and ice cream? And wild parties? And beautiful weddings? Then you're going to love this post. Bride Kelly has family from Maryville, but she lives in London (England, not Kentucky) where she met her hubby Alex. They decided to have their wedding here though at the always beautiful Butterfly Gap Retreat right up the road from our house. As much as we love Butterfly Gap, I can't help but wonder how cool it would be to photograph a wedding in London. Maybe we can do an anniversary session there with this awesome couple next year. :)

Here are a few favorites from their wonderful wedding...

There's two things I love about these photos. 1) It shows the importance of siblings; Kelly's sister and Alex's brother helped them get ready. (Danielle and I are both only children, so seeing stuff like this makes me glad we decided to have two kids). And 2) it shows how much Danielle and I think alike. We were at two different locations and we shot almost the exact same photo. Great minds.

The beautiful bride.

Danielle's view of the first look.

And my series.

Sshhh... don't look now, but there's a man hiding in the bushes (that's Alex's dad, who probably shot more than I did at the wedding).

It poured for a little while before the wedding.

But we're not afraid of a little rain. We rocked a few portraits inside until it slacked off.

Brittany got creative with the shoes.

It's not a wedding at Butterfly Gap without photos in front of the blue wall!

And if you look close, you can see it started raining a little again while the sun was out.

Nothing like a wedding guest beating me on the angle during the service. She even had Kelly's mom pause as she walked down the aisle for a few photos. Why haven't I thought of that? ;)

The light inside the pavilion at Butterfly Gap is beautiful.

After the ceremony, Alex joked around in his brother's Royal Navy hat.

Such a nice couple.

Two photographers at your wedding means double sunflare radness of the same moment.

Love it!

Sometimes we like to try funky stuff. Does it work this time?

One of these kids is doing her own thing...

First dance.

The light coming in through the windows was yummy.

Kelly is a cupcake fiend. So much so, that she has a great blog about it. Check it out, but I'm warning you, eat a snack first because you might just start munching your computer while you're visiting it: An American Cupcake in London

A couple of ring details with the yummy cupcakes from First Fruits Catering and the guest favors from Schakolad in Knoxville.

Cupcakes and chocolates are great, but I dig me some ice cream! Especially when it's Marble Slab ice cream!!

Apparently, they like it too. ;)

Hey, when you're the bride, you can have as many cupcakes as you want.

Nice light.

I believe that we're all given one gift in life; one ability that sets us apart. This dude has definitely found his. :)

Time to "Roxbury"
the bride.

And the groom.

And the grandma. Poor grandma.

I wonder what she's whispering to him. :)

Thanks Kelly and Alex for letting us photograph your beautiful wedding! I sure wish we could hand-deliver your proofbook in London! Like I said, anniversary session in a year!
