Knoxville Wedding Photography: Melissa+Michael 10.10.09

"Octoblitz" is almost over... and I'm still alive! I'm churning out the photos as fast as I can and today I want to share some highlights from Melissa and Michael's wedding at the Yacht Club on Tellico Lake in Loudon. The weather was kind of crappy, but it cleared up just in time for the ceremony and Melissa and Michael had a beautiful wedding (and one heck of a rockin' party afterwards).

Enjoy some of our favorites...

I love this detail photo Danielle got during the makeup process.

Aside from the misty, cloudy weather, the only other snafu was one of Melissa's new shoes broke. Luckily someone had some tape and patched it back together until replacements were found.

Melissa gives the shoes a little subtle message during the portraits. She handled the whole situation great. There's not much you can do, but roll with it right? Her amazing attitude prompted me to coin the phrase, "shoe happens" (the irony is that I noticed halfway through the ceremony that the brand new pair of Rockports I was wearing had split at one of the seams. Eh, shoe happens!).

The beautiful bride.

Little Bryson, the ringbearer, with a classic look.

He was a little rambunctious too. We were in the middle of photographing the guys when we hear Bryson say to his dad, "I love puddles!". I turned and fired just as he leapt and our assistant, Beth "Where's Waldo", tried to stop the little guy from hitting a slick spot on the decking. But it was too late.*

A little pre ceremony get-down.

It never really rained, but there was a heavy mist that fell for about 30 minutes before the ceremony. Danielle chipped in to help wipe the chairs dry and I couldn't resist getting a shot of her in action. Hope Photography: Not only are we awesome photographers, we clean too!

The bridesmaids and bridesdude (Melissa's brother) did a little dancing before the bride entered.

I love this daddy-daughter walking in photo.

I hope the rings aren't tied to that thing!

A little lipstick smudginess after the kiss.

It's goooooood!

Trying something different for the wedding party photo.

The happy couple.

Love love love this spiral staircase we found.

A ring detail on the uber-cool bouquet by Lisa Foster.

During the reception I caught the couple kissing as I walked past one of the crystal tree centerpieces (also by Lisa Foster).

"Dōmo arigatō, Mr. Roboto"

Some folks just can't handle a good party.

During the toasts.

Umm...

Aww...

Tie. It's what's for dinner.

What can I say? The ladies love me!

Three of the guests entertained with some old school breakdancing. I would have had photos of the third too, but he got his start right in front of me and I got kicked in the nose. Yep, kinda hard to shoot when your eyes are tearing up after a direct hit to the ole schnoz. Nothing like being in the middle of the action though, huh?

The bride dances with her new father-in-law...

A minute later she dips again, but forgot to let him know. Gravity takes over...

But she's up and alright folks! Nothing to see here; move along!*

Last dance.

"Take us with you!!"

Alright kids, that's it for now. I hope you enjoyed the show. A big thanks to Melissa and Michael for letting us photograph the wedding!

Later,
Wes

Coming up: An engagement session in the midst of all these weddings!

*No ringbearers or brides were harmed in the making of these photos.

I love the spiral stair case shots, and the black and white one of their backs turned while they are looking out over the water. Beautiful! My wedding may be over, but I think I'll always be a loyal blog stalker ;)
