Maryville Engagement Photography: Heather+Jacob

Heather and Jacob are getting married in June at the beautiful University of Tennessee Ag Gardens. And they recently stopped by our studio for their engagement photos in downtown Maryville. They were sports since we made them trek all over the place in the cold and slush. We even stopped by a closed salvage house and played a little… Danielle kept joking that we needed to take their photo sitting on an old toilet that was outside, but thankfully Heather and Jacob declined. :) Here are a few of our favorites from the day…

We started at the old depot next to our studio.

Gotta love an almost silhouette.

At the Salvage House… I think we might do more here some day with permission.

Such a happy couple.

Getting all "artsy fartsy" for you.

Who knew alleys could looks so cool?

Thanks soon to be Mr. and Mrs.! We can't wait for the wedding!

Knoxville Wedding Photography: Jonathan+Whitney: 01.15.11

Welcome to the first blog post of the year! I know, a little late since it's almost February, but we took a little r&r to Florida and then intentionally got snowed-in in Atlanta with some friends on the way back. As soon as we got back though, it was nose to the grindstone with the first wedding of the year.

Whitney and Jonathan had a beautiful winter wedding at West End Church of Christ in Knoxville last weekend. These two are a hoot to be around and their wedding sure was a fun one. Part of my New Year's resolutions is that I'm going to do less jabbering on the blog and let the photos speak for themselves. So, this is me shutting up; and this is you enjoying the photos!

I love seeing old photos from the parents' weddings. It gives me warm fuzzies knowing that someday our photos will be in the same position.

Jonathan's mom pinned him down for a little makeover.

Which he quickly undid much to his groomsmen's amusement.

Whitney getting ready and getting love.

The groom. The bride.

The bride. The groom.

Well, I did say "big smile!"

A fun window triptych.

Even inside, Danielle finds sunflare. Amazing.

We played around in some patches of light too.

You gotta love a bride and groom willing to stand on something for you.

I think this is my favorite.

There was still a little snow despite the sunshine.

Wakeup!

What do you do when the wick is too short on the unity candle and it won't light? You laugh and make the best of it. :)

Jonathan and Whitney's dads both performed the ceremony… phew, I don't think I would be able to handle it. You'd hear nothing but sobs as I performed the ceremony. These guys did great.

As a MacFan, I gotta say, coolest grooms cake I've seen in a while.

On a whim, we asked if they would want to play in the snow… in the 10 years we've been doing weddings, we've never had a snowy one. And they agreed! Although Whitney may want to watch where she's pegging Jonathan with those snowballs.

After a couple minutes, we let them warm up in each others' arms. :)

Fire bad!

Congratulations Whitney and Jonathan!! I can easily say, your wedding was the best we've shot this year!!! ;)
