Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Seasons greetings everyone!! Today I present you with a short, but fun blog post. First off, we wanted to share our Christmas card with all of you. Here's the front...

And the back...

Danielle and I decided to keep our mugs off the cards and to use one of our templates for the first time this year. Life just got so busy and hectic this fall that we didn't get a chance to do a family Christmas photo. That's okay though; we know everyone would rather see the girls anyway. :)

And Danielle did her annual JibJab, Elf Yourself video...

What can I say? We're a bunch of nuts (and I have some mad dance skills apparently)!

We do want to wish you all a wonderful holiday season and a very merry Christmas! Safe travels, happy eating, and may you all have a wonderful time with your families!

With good tidings (I'm not really sure what that means),
Wes

Knoxville Engagement Photography - Katie + Will

Our last engagement session of the year. Man, that sounds weird to me. Where did 2009 go? It doesn't matter, I guess. All that does matter is that we had a rockin' good time with Katie and Will in downtown Knoxville. We were cutting up and laughing the whole session with these two. I bet their May 2010 wedding at Whitestone Inn will be an absolute blast!

Here are a few of our favorites from their session...

Katie and Will, you two better watch for pedestrians!

I <3 this one!!

There was a wee bit of fall color still around.

Everybody, sing-along! ~Row, row, row your boat...~

Katie got a little, um, frisky. ;)

It's not trespassing if they leave the door open, right?

We just couldn't pass up the grunge of this place.

There's something surreal about this scene to me.

Kissy-face!

:)

Mom always told me not to play in the middle of the street, but sometimes you just have to.

I don't remember what Will said, but I'm sure it was funny. ;)

Wes

Robinella's New Album

Wow, we take a vacation and it takes me two weeks to recover. I guess that's what we get for choosing Disney World as a "vacation". I love that place, but there really isn't too much that is relaxing about it. Our girls loved it though, so I guess that makes it all worth it. Since our return, I've been busting booty trying to get caught up and blogging keeps getting passed up. Well, I'm back in the saddle today and ready to share some fun photos from a freelance job for a cool artist.

Recently, one of our past brides, Robinella, contacted us about doing some photos for her new album. In case you haven't heard of her (and if you haven't, where the heck have you been?), Robinella is a super talented jazzy bluegrass singer/songwriter from Maryville and she's been working on a new CD, which will be released at a performance this Friday, Dec. 18 at the Square Room in Market Square during WDVX's Blue Plate Special. We had a blast photographing her at her Maryville home. She's so fun and laid back that it's really not fair to call this "work". It was like hanging out with an old friend. The only direction she gave us was, "I want to look friendly." With that great smile of hers, our job was in the bag. :)

We are very excited to be a part of this project and can't wait to see the CD in real life! Until then, check out a few of Robinella's favorites...

Maryville Portrait Photography - The Whaley Family

We love to hear updates from our past wedding clients.  We LOVE it even more when the updates involve them having babies. But one thing that we’ve noticed is that some of our clients from the past are shocked to learn that we don’t JUST do wedding photography! Amy commented on something I posted of Facebook recently and said that she didn't know we did family photos. Sure do!

We did Amy and Jeremy’s wedding back in 2003 and now they have two adorable little boys!  Colton and Dillon were so much fun to do this session with! The only bad thing is that they are so close in ages to our girls that Amy wanted to play Miss Matchmaker . Ixnay on the atchmakingmay!  Cute boys or not… keep ALL boys away from my daughters!  :)

Here are a few favorites from their session:

Dillon had some great expressions throughout the session.

And Colton was just a ball of cuteness.

Kissy face!

We found a cool rock at the Maryville Greenbelt that had a hole in it. The kids loved sneaking peaks at me on the other side (and Danielle got some unflattering photos of me all sprawled out on the ground that you won't see).

I bring out the best in kids.

I swear, I have the best job in the world!

Brothers. Yep, I'm going to have to keep my girls locked up until they are at least 30.

I did a few with just Mom and Dad... it's been 6 years since I photographed them last!

One happy family (under a super-stinky, but beautiful, ginkgo biloba tree).

No photographers were harmed in the making of this photo.

Boys will be boys.

Just out for a stroll.

Wes
